Baseball Recap: Tolleson Has No Trouble Against Santa Fe South

Tolleson won the last time they faced Santa Fe South and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Tolleson Wolverines' way against the Santa Fe South Saints as the Tolleson Wolverines made off with a 13-4 win. The contest marked the Wolverines' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Tolleson got a great performance from ADRIAN NUNEZ as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. NUNEZ is becoming a predictor of Tolleson's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 4-5-1 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on ANTHONY RAMIREZ, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-5. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. DAVID CANALES was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Tolleson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Tolleson back to even at 6-6-1. As for Santa Fe South, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Tolleson is taking a road trip to face off against Dobson at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Dobson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.3 runs per game on average), something Tolleson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Santa Fe South, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 loss against Lutheran on the 19th.
