Recap: Bullitt East Chargers vs. Palm Beach Gardens Gators
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bullitt East Chargers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They secured a 66-60 W over Palm Beach Gardens. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Palm Beach Gardens' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyana Poitier, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds, and Azariah Marrero who scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals. Marrero continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Russell, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Bullitt East's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Bullitt East will head out on the road to face off against Pleasure Ridge Park at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Palm Beach Gardens won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Benjamin at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th. Benjamin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
