Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Comes Up Short

Scotts Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Santa Cruz on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 5-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Falcons' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Scotts Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kit Deforest, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The loss snapped Scotts Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11 record. As for Santa Cruz, they moved to 11-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coming up, Scotts Valley is taking a road trip to take on King's Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Santa Cruz, they will host Burlingame at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
