Baseball Recap: Putnam Valley Has No Trouble Against Hastings

Putnam Valley lost to Hastings back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Yellow Jackets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

James Sanford was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Nick Mazzola was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Putnam Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hastings only posted a batting average of .222.

Putnam Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hastings, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. As for Hastings, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Irvington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
