Basketball Recap: New Braunfels Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If New Braunfels Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 84-44 takedown of John Paul II last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Cross Knights on Friday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 15-10 in the first quarter.

It was another big night for Aaron Garcia, who almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine rebounds for Holy Cross. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Garcia has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. Another player making a difference was Steve Hernandez, who posted 12 points.

New Braunfels Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Holy Cross, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing John Paul II the next time they take the court. Holy Cross will head out to face John Paul II at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while New Braunfels Christian Academy will head out to face them on Friday.
