Soccer Recap: Springwood Takes a Loss

Springwood entered their contest against Evangel Christian on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Springwood Wildcats came up short against the Evangel Christian Lightning, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty ten goals in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Having lost for the first time this season, Springwood fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Springwood take on the St. Mary's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Springwood has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Evangel Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Springwood at 2:00 p.m. on March 15th.
