Volleyball Recap: Grafton Starts off Right with Win over Brown Deer

Grafton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Brown Deer Falcons by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Black Hawks in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Grafton was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-8.

Grafton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abigail Barthelemy out in front who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Barthelemy has posted since back in October of 2024.

Barthelemy wasn't the only good server: Grafton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brown Deer only served four aces.

Coincidentally, Grafton and Brown Deer will both be playing Living Word Lutheran the next time they take the court. The Black Hawks will host the Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
