Jackson Academy came tearing into Tuesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red. The three-run effort marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Deuce Jenkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landyn Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Foster Meacham, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Jackson Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-3 win against Northpoint Christian on the 12th. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lipscomb Academy at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
