Softball Recap: Santa Anna Comes Up Short

Santa Anna lost against Stephenville FAITH last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Santa Anna Mountaineers fell 15-10 to the Stephenville FAITH Knights.

Dayla Ray put in work no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaydence Strickland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Simone Donham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

Santa Anna's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stephenville FAITH, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Anna will head out to challenge Hamlin at 5:00 p.m. on March 3rd. As for Stephenville FAITH, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cross Plains at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stephenville FAITH is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
