Middle College falls despite strong effort from Lebron Hasan

Recap: Middle College Cougars vs. Foshay Wolverines

The Middle College Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Foshay by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Middle College has suffered yet this season.

When it comes to explaining why Middle College lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lebron Hasan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Hasan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Moreno, who scored six points along with two steals.

Middle College struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Foshay racked up 18 assists.

Foshay found their leader in underclassman Shomare' Gray, who scored 21 points along with five assists and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Gray posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Peter Egwurube, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Middle College dropped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Foshay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle College's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Larchmont Charter at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th. Foshay will take on New West Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
