Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Frontier Academy Wolverines
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Highland Huskies had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by the Wolverines on the road to the tune of 80-34. Highland is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
It was another big night for Sawyer Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Jacob Wares was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Frontier Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Owen Steward, who scored 12 points, and Kaden Robles who scored nine points along with two steals. Steward is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Frontier Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Highland will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Timnath at 7:00 p.m. Timnath is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Frontier Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Brush at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Frontier Academy is ranked 261st, while Brush is ranked 285th).
