Football Game Preview: Anna Rockets vs. Northeastern Jets

The Anna Rockets will take on the Northeastern Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Anna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Mechanicsburg to the tune of 45-12. The victory was familiar territory for the Rockets, who have now won four contests in a row.

Anna's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Trenton Roberts, who rushed for 92 yards and one score on only seven carries, and Tyson Vaubel, who gained 58 total yards. Those 92 rushing yards gave Roberts a new career-high.

Anna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kale Hoying, Carter Edwards, and Wyatt Howell picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Northeastern got themselves on the board against Rock Hill on Friday, but Rock Hill never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 59-0 win over the Redmen. Given the Jets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Redmen are ranked 398th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anna's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Anna strolled past Northeastern in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 by a score of 17-3. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
