Preview: Leroy Bears vs. Brantley Bulldogs
The Leroy Bears will face off against the Brantley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leroy will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Leroy walked away with it. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 27-13.
Brayden Huebner was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 66 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Leroy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Sawyer Sullivan and Timothy Parnell who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Brantley waltzed into Friday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They had just enough and edged Loachapoka out 14-12.
Their wins bumped Leroy to 11-0 and Georgiana to 9-3.
Everything came up roses for Leroy against Brantley when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. Does Leroy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brantley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
