Basketball Recap: Golden Gate Comes Up Short

Golden Gate lost against Gateway Charter back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Gate Titans were beaten by the Gateway Charter Griffins 77-50. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Powell and Kamal Hyppolite certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Powell posted 19 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Hyppolite put up 17 points and three steals. Powell's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Golden Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Gateway Charter, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Golden Gate will be playing in front of their home fans against Lely at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Golden Gate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Gateway Charter, they will challenge Sagemont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Gateway Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
