Basketball Game Preview: Riesel Indians vs. Bruceville-Eddy Eagles

The Riesel Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riesel has three straight wins, Bruceville-Eddy has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Riesel is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Mart: they outscored them in every quarter. Riesel took down Mart 47-31 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bruceville-Eddy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Marlin 91-18. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1452nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 454th).

Riesel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Bruceville-Eddy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-21.

Everything came up roses for Riesel against Bruceville-Eddy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 88-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riesel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
