Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Southeastern Christian Academy

Southeastern Christian Academy entered their tilt with Liberty Christian Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Heat 73-59. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Southeastern Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ziyon Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Uzziah Marlowe was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Southeastern Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Liberty Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taelin Burney, who shot 86% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Burney is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Pittman, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Southeastern Christian Academy's record is now 4-1. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Southeastern Christian Academy will challenge New Garden Friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-51 win against Wake Christian Academy on the 5th.
