Baseball Recap: Raton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mora last Friday, Raton came back down to earth. Raton lost 18-7 to the West Las Vegas Dons on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Dons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Chase Middlebrook was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Azden Romero, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Raton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Las Vegas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

While Raton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
