Volleyball Recap: Walled Lake Northern Knights vs. Lake Orion Dragons

Walled Lake Northern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Orion Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.

Walled Lake Northern couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Lake Orion a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-7.

Morgin Parsley paced Walled Lake Northern's offense, picking up five kills. Parsley really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Makayla Bildstein, racking up two apiece.

Lake Orion was led to victory by Abbey G Bruce and Elle Cyr. G Bruce had four aces and three digs, while Cyr had four digs. The dominant performance gave G Bruce a new career-high in aces.

Walled Lake Northern's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18-2. As for Lake Orion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-15-2.

Walled Lake Northern has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Bloomfield Hills on the 2nd. As for Lake Orion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against South Lyon East on the 2nd.
