Basketball Game Preview: Union County Panthers vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

Union County is 0-3 against Sonoraville since December of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will head out to face off against the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. This will be Union County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

It was a proper cat-fight when Union County took on Gilmer on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 47-45. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sonoraville strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 60-49 win over Coahulla Creek. The Phoenix pushed the score to 51-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colts cut but never quite recovered from.

Union County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sonoraville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Union County suffered a grim 52-30 defeat to Sonoraville when the teams last played back in February. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
