The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Mt. Diablo at home to the tune of 70-32. Given Clayton Valley Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Mt. Diablo is ranked 1031st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Clayton Valley Charter to victory were Elijah Perryman and James Moore. Perryman scored 14 points along with seven assists and five steals, while Moore scored 23 points along with two steals. Perryman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Robertson, who scored seven points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Clayton Valley Charter and bumps their season record up to 16-7. As for Mt. Diablo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton Valley Charter will face off against Alhambra at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Diablo, they will head out on the road to take on Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
