Baseball Recap: Pond Creek-Hunter Comes Up Short

Pond Creek-Hunter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Covington-Douglas Wildcats. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Pond Creek-Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Covington-Douglas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pond Creek-Hunter will head out to square off against Oklahoma Bible at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington-Douglas, they will venture away from home to challenge Kremlin-Hillsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Broncs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
