Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Pioneers vs. Nashua South Purple Panthers

Trinity hasn't had much luck against Nashua South recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trinity Pioneers will face off against the Nashua South Purple Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Trinity knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Nashua South likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Trinity was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-56 to Bishop Guertin. The contest marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Nashua South faced Alvirne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Nashua South walked away with a 55-45 win over Alvirne.

Nashua South pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Trinity, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.

Trinity came up short against Nashua South in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 66-59. Can Trinity avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
