Softball Game Preview: Burns Bulldogs vs. Highland Tech Rams

For the second straight game, Burns will face off against Highland Tech. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Burns has four straight wins, Highland Tech has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Burns' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Highland Tech with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Laney Morris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Peyton Beaver was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Laney Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Highland Tech's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Burns, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
