Soccer Recap: Sycamore Wins Going Away Against Winnebago

The matchup between Sycamore and Winnebago on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Spartans blew past the Indians 7-1. It was an even better day for Izzie Segreti as she scored three goals for her team.

Sycamore has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six contests. As for Winnebago, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sycamore will challenge DeKalb at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Sycamore will be up against DeKalb's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.88 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Winnebago, they will head out on the road to take on Stillman Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
