The Cambridge Bears will take on the Kell Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, Cambridge humbled Centennial with a 35-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Cambridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Craig Dandridge, who picked up 154 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Dandridge's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Cambridge also got a significant boost from Brooks Malone, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cambridge proved: they limited Centennial to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The Bears didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kell). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Centennial 55-20. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Knights are ranked 218th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kell's win came from a few key players Cambridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Moonie Gipson, who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Kell is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Donte Grant, who rushed for 97 yards and two scores.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Kell, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jowell Combay, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Cambridge's record now sits at 7-1. As for Kell, their record is now 7-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Cambridge has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 291.2 passing yards per game. Kell, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 205.8 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Cambridge ended up a good deal behind Kell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 28-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gipson, who rushed for 246 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Now that the Bears know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
