Softball Recap: Ely Timberwolves vs. Floodwood Polar Bears
While Ely's win against Floodwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Polar Bears 9-7. The Timberwolves haven't had any issues with the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Lindi Zemke was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Peyton Huntington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Ely's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Floodwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Looking ahead, Ely will be playing at home against North Woods at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Floodwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
