Soccer Recap: Shorecrest Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oak Harbor on Thursday, Shorecrest came back down to earth. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Shorewood Stormrays who were credited with the win on Saturday. The Shorewood Stormrays got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Shorecrest Scots' two. While losing is never fun, Shorecrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Shorewood are ranked 11th).

Shorecrest dropped their record down to 9-7-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Shorewood, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2-1.

Coming up, Shorecrest will head out to take on Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shorewood, they will host Edmonds-Woodway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmonds-Woodway will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Shorewood surely won't give up without a fight.
