Softball Recap: Shady Spring Comes Up Short

Shady Spring fell victim to Hoover and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Huskies when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jenna Joyce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Shady Spring's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hoover, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Shady Spring will square off against Steele at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Hoover, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-4 win against Midland Trail on the 29th.
