Hagerman faced Butte County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Hagerman was the clear victor by a 38-18 margin over Butte County. Hagerman might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hagerman found their leader in sophomore Casen Knight, who rushed for 122 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Hagerman is undefeated when Knight posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Cameron Clausse got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Butte County lost, don't look at Cooper Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

The win (which was Hagerman's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points over those games. As for Butte County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Hagerman will be playing at home against Raft River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Butte County, they will head out to challenge Grace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Pirates their first taste of in-conference action this season.
