Softball Recap: Valley Head Tigers vs. Crossville Lions
While Valley Head's win against Crossville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Lions 11-9. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Lexi Coffman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Olivia Woods was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Chloe Palmer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The win got Valley Head back to even at 3-3. As for Crossville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Valley Head will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair will be back at it again later today.
