Soccer Game Preview: Midlothian vs. Ursuline Academy

The Midlothian Panthers will face off against the Ursuline Academy Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Midlothian had just enough and edged Anna out 2-1. Zayla Reagan had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Panthers got from the refs.

Macie Griffin and Amy Wyman scored both of Midlothian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Ursuline Academy faced Bishop Lynch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Everything went Ursuline Academy's way against Bishop Lynch as Ursuline Academy made off with a 3-0 victory. Considering the Bears have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ursuline Academy pushed their record up to 10-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Midlothian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
