Soccer Game Preview: Conway vs. Socastee

The Conway Tigers will challenge the Socastee Braves at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Conway managed to keep up with St. James until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Tigers lost 6-2 to the Sharks. The defeat continues a trend for Conway in their meetings with St. James: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Socastee came up short against Myrtle Beach on Friday, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Socastee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Myrtle Beach are ranked eighth).

Braeden Cunningham wasn't going to let Myrtle Beach walk away unscathed as he scored both of Socastee's goals, bringing his season total up to ten goals.

Conway's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Socastee, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-9.

Conway came out on top in a nail-biter against Socastee in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
