Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Monett Cubs, falling 63-42. If the Mountaineers were looking for revenge after losing 50-43 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Monett, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will welcome Hollister at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Monett, they will be playing at home against Springfield Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
