Basketball Recap: Bayfield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Bayfield was riding high fresh off their 55-28 takedown of Lac Courte Oreilles on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trollers were dealt a 67-35 loss at the hands of the Washburn Castle Guards on Thursday. The Trollers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Castle Guards apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Bayfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Parent, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points. Another player making a difference was Skyler Lamoreaux, who posted six points and three steals.

Bayfield's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Washburn, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayfield will be home for the holidays to greet Bruce at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washburn, they will host Ashland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Castle Guards will be up against the Oredockers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
