Basketball Recap: L.E.A.D. Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Snook Christian Academy

L.E.A.D. Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 64-56 defeat to the Snook Christian Academy Eagles. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, L.E.A.D. Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Andrew Holcomb went 9 of 21 en route to 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holcomb has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Floyd, who posted seven points and four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Snook Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Gabel, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points Gabel has posted since back in January of 2024. Dawson Pierce was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven steals.

L.E.A.D. Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Snook Christian Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

L.E.A.D. Academy will face off against Destin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Snook Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-27 victory against Jackson Academy on the 7th.
