Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Clearwater Central Catholic

Clearwater Central Catholic entered their tilt with Countryside on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over the Countryside Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Marauders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clearwater Central Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emme Dalhoff, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. Dalhoff is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sophia Landen was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Clearwater Central Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 16 consecutive games.

Countryside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kylee Moore, who posted 14 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Wright, who had 16 points and three steals.

Clearwater Central Catholic pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.5 points. As for Countryside, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4.

Clearwater Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-34 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 10th. As for Countryside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-33 win against Gibbs on the 8th.
