Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary's Crusaders vs. Glide Wildcats

The St. Mary's Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the Glide Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Mary's came up short against Bonanza last Friday, falling 13-3. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary's saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Savage, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Savage also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Glide got themselves on the board against Oakland on Saturday, but Oakland never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Oakers with a sharp 16-0 win. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Glide and bumps their season record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

St. Mary's might still be hurting after the 24-1 defeat they got from Glide in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
