Softball Game Preview: Smethport Hubbers vs. Kane Wolves

The Smethport Hubbers will challenge the Kane Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Smethport has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 13.

Smethport blew Cameron County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Cameron County got their revenge. The Hubbers fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 20-18. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Hubbers still had to take the loss.

Coral Tronetti made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Aleigha Reed was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Kane came up short against Port Allegany on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Wolves have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Smethport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Kane, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
