Wayne City took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out DuQuoin 2-1. For Wayne City, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win DuQuoin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wayne City got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-9.

Coming up, Wayne City is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Okawville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DuQuoin, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
