Basketball Game Preview: Tiverton Tigers vs. East Greenwich Avengers

The Tiverton Tigers will head out to take on the East Greenwich Avengers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Tiverton ended up a good deal behind Durfee and lost 38-21. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jah'Niece Branch, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Branch is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tori Murray, who had six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, East Greenwich came up short against Smithfield on Thursday and fell 48-40. The Avengers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tiverton's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for East Greenwich, they now also have a losing record at 2-3.

Tiverton beat East Greenwich 52-44 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tiverton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
