It was a good run, but Oak City Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell to the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers 62-57.

Western Reserve Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Nahar, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Nahar has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Steindl, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Oak City Prep's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Western Reserve Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Oak City Prep and TPLS Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western Reserve Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
