Softball Recap: Crab Orchard's Undefeated Season over After 18 Games

Thursday just wasn't the day for Crab Orchard's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Waltonville Spartans on Thursday. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Jada Burnett-Hatton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crab Orchard fell to 17-1. As for Waltonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Crab Orchard will head out to face off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waltonville, they will welcome Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
