Flag Football Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Del Norte Nighthawks + How To Watch

The Clairemont Chieftains will be playing at home against the Del Norte Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clairemont is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Clairemont beat Point Loma 33-25. Given the Chieftains' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Pointers are ranked 264th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clairemont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kacey Otterman, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Abby Mora was another key signal caller, throwing for 208 yards and two TDs while completing 75.7% of her passes.

Despite a strong season so far, Del Norte has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 25-19 heartbreaker at the hands of Carlsbad. The Nighthawks gained 76 more yards on the day, but it was the Lancers that made the best use of them.

Clairemont will need to focus on slowing down Katelyn Maley, one of several Del Norte players who made an impact when they last played. She threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.4% of her passes, and also rushed for 33 yards.

Del Norte's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Clairemont, their record now sits at 14-4.
