Basketball Recap: Monument Valley Cougars vs. Green River Pirates

Monument Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a blow against the Green River Pirates, falling 101-20. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jason Hernandez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 11 assists for Green River. Those 11 assists gave Hernandez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Macias, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Green River, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Monument Valley will square off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Green River, they will be playing at home against Caprock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th.
