Basketball Recap: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Iroquois Braves
Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Iroquois Braves 59-30. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 65-31 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Iroquois got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kellen Burroughs out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Burroughs a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Roman Caporale, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and three steals.
Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Iroquois, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northwestern Wildcats take on the Saegertown Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Iroquois, they will face off against Girard at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
