Football Game Preview: Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors vs. Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders

The Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors will challenge the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Zephyrhills Christian Academy was beaten by Community School of Naples 58-18. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Seahawks are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Clearwater Central Catholic played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Cardinal Mooney, falling 49-28. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Marauders, who until this game were averaging 14.57 points allowed.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy will have to contain Khayse Barrett as he made an impact in Clearwater Central Catholic's last game. He rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 134 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Corey Simms, who gained 103 total yards and a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Zephyrhills Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
