Baseball Recap: West Campus Beats Johnson for Their Third Straight Victory

West Campus had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on Johnson with a sharp 15-7 victory. The result was nothing new for West Campus, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

West Campus let Maxton Creeger and Jonah Lee run wild. Creeger scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Lee went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Creeger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Gilson, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: West Campus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

West Campus' record now sits at 8-5. As for Johnson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

West Campus will face off against Florin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Campus is facing Florin at the right time seeing as Florin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Johnson, they have already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Rosemont on the 22nd.
