Basketball Recap: Wayland Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Wayland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Markesan Hornets. The Big Red were probably out for revenge after losing 63-56 to them when the teams met back in February of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wayland Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Markesan, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayland Academy will take on Central Wisconsin Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Markesan, they will challenge Cambria-Friesland at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Cambria-Friesland's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Markesan has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
