Baseball Recap: Gibson Southern Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gibson Southern extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 18-5 in the process. They came out on top against the North Central Panthers by a score of 9-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Grant Stinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gunner Alexander, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for North Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On North Central's side, Jackson Dinnsen put in work no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Dinnsen was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Dinnsen wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abel Flessner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Gibson Southern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Washington on the 20th. As for North Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-0 win against Ben Davis on the 19th.
