Volleyball Recap: Westview Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kambry Kachaturian and Chloe Truitt

Westview suffered their biggest defeat since October 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Douglas County West Falcon, falling 3-0. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Westview was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Chloe Truitt and Kambry Kachaturian certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Truitt had 12 digs and two assists, while Kachaturian had seven digs and four aces. Braeli Myers also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Douglas County West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Rayer, who had 17 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Rayer has posted over her last 12 matchups.

The defeat snapped Westview's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Douglas County West, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Westview has already played their next contest (against Omaha Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Douglas County West, they will welcome Bergan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Falcon surely won't give up without a fight.
